Windsor High School was given High Performing Specialist School Status in 2006. This enabled us to gain an additional
specialism in Applied Learning.
As part of our plan to increase opportunities for students we significantly increased the applied learning curriculum
programme and are able to offer students opportunities at the fore front of educational thinking and curriculum development.

We work with other training providers and employers in the local area to provide opportunities for extended work
experience, training in construction and motor vehicle skills and to enhance the vocational experiences in many of our
curriculum areas.
Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT and additional qualifications such as Health and Safety at Work ensure
our students meet the demands and can be successful as they progress to the world of work as well as further education
and training opportunities.
