This year our conference on the 30th Sept 2011 was led by Moyra Healy, a Behaviour Management expert with over 30 years experience. She shared many practical approaches to encourage and support all children, from those with a record of poor behaviour through to those already “thirsty for learning”.
- From assertive and confident body language to reward schemes that “hook” pupils into learning, staff worked on a solid foundation for classroom relationships.
- Building on established and researched evidence about the Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) staff left with insights into the social and emotional growth of the children they teach.
- The group were able to discuss and explore situations they had experienced and incorporate practical strategies for the future.
A provisional date has been booked for 2nd March 2012 to organise a similar session for Support Staff with Moyra.
